Native Virginia Sarracenia flava in bloom in site-specific beds.

Volunteer Chris Simon pollinating federally endangered Sarracenia jonesii.  Note cup of toothpicks and plate with film of  vegetable oil used in pollination.  Toothpick is dipped in oil so that pollen will adhere to toothpick.  Toothpick is discarded after pollination and dipped only once in oil to prevent cross contamination.
