Chuck Peoples, of International Paper, measures new champion native Virginia
longleaf pine at Everwoods, Suffolk City, VA on October 23, 2001. Note
that tree contains healed turpentine scar. Everwoods was a previously unknown
site to science and the new champion longleaf pine measures 32.5 inches
in diameter. Long live the new king!
