WHAT'S NEW for 1999?!
Lacrosse is still growing in popularity. After only two summers with this program, more and more boys wanted to learn to play the sport. This year we are adding much more equipment so more campers can participate.Every year we keep recycling our mountain bikes. As we retire a few this winter, we will replace them with new bikes. We also are adding on to MOAB to accomodate the increasing number of bikes brought to camp by campers. We have taken the old BMX course and converted it into a mountain bike challenge course. The course has many obstacles to overcome such as logs you have to ride over, steps to ride down and a ride through a rock garden. It is really challenging and fun!
Early last year we reclaimed some of the lake margins and turned them back into mountain bogs. They quickly became the home to some federally endangered mountain sweet pitcher plants as part of a reintroduction project. We are happy to say the plants are doing very well and produced seed for next year.
Falling Creek Camp is proud of our facilities and we will continue to keep the buildings and equipment in tip-top shape. We hope you like the changes!
