Directions:
Joseph Pines can be accessed from I- 95, I-295, and route 460.
WARNING
You are not allowed to enter the Joseph Pines Preserve unless accompanied by an employee, officer, or director of Meadowview Biological Research Station. While we want you to see the property and restoration efforts our insurance requirements stipulate that you must be attended by a Meadowview employee or officer. The property is posted and failure to comply through illegal trespassing, removal, or damage of property will be prosecuted.
From the north on I-295:
From I-295 take the route 460 exit south towards Norfolk. As you take the southbound loop off I-295 please note the native Virginia longleaf pine we have planted in the cloverleaf for VDOT (note: you are not permitted to stop or park in clover-leafs so please just look out your car window). Drive south on 460 through the town of Disputanta and across the Prince George/Sussex County line. If you end up in the town of Waverly you have gone too far. Within a few miles you will be making a right hand turn on route 602 towards the Sussex County landfill and Sussex I &II prisons. Cross the railroad tracks after entering route 602 and drive ca. 5 miles. The Joseph Pines Pines Preserve is directly across from Colonial Hunt Club and is on your right hand side. The address is 22759 Cabin Point Road. There is a gate at the entrance with a sign for Joseph Pines.
From I-95 (north or south bound):
Take route 35 south and cross the Prince George/Sussex County line. Drive almost 2 miles after crossing the county line and make a left hand turn on route 602. Drive 3.5 miles and the preserve is on your left hand side, directly across from Colonial Hunt Club. The address is 22759 Cabin Point Road. There is a gate at the entrance with a sign for Joseph Pines.
